🖥️ OpenAI Introduces GPT-4o to ChatGPT Free Users

After announcing it on May 13th, yesterday, OpenAI finally made its new model, GPT-4o, available for free ChatGPT users. Now the free plan users can experience GPT-4 level intelligence, access file upload functions, GPT store, image recogonition, web browsing, memory, and more. A much welcomed update.

Should you keep paying for ChatGPT Plus?
Depends on whether you’d like to create your custom GPTs or need a 5x higher message cap vs. free users.

At its annual conference, Microsoft announced a ton of updates. Here are the highlights:

  • Its Azure AI platform will feature GPT-4o, allowing users to use text, audio and video as input and output.

  • Copilot+ PCs, “the fastest, most AI-ready PCs ever built” powered by Qualcomm chips, starting at $1,000 from, available starting mid-June.

  • Recall: “utilizes Windows Copilot Runtime to help you find anything you’ve seen on your PC. Search using any clues you remember or use the timeline to scroll through your past activity, including apps, documents, and websites.”

  • Phi 3-vision, a new mini multimodal model for mobile devices, is available in preview. Additionally, AI Agents via Copilot Studio will soon act as "virtual employees," automating tasks like email monitoring, employee onboarding, and data entry.

💸 Elon Musk’s xAI Startup Gains $6B Funding

xAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup, secured $6 billion in funding, bringing its valuation to $18 billion. The company, only a year old, has created a competitive large language model. The investment will help xAI building new AI models and its own supercomputer by fall 2025, that would require 100,000 of Nvidia’s current H100 chips.
